Who We Are

The Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition holds District and Region competitions in the Upper Midwest for aspiring opera singers as part of the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition program.

We create the opportunity for young singers to audition in a concert hall before highly respected judges in the opera community. Through the competition process and master classes vocalists receive valuable feedback to hone their skills, refine their craft, and potentially accomplish a lifelong goal, taking their talent all the way to the Met.

Our history is filled with many stories of singers who have accomplished their dreams and continue to inspire others. Their success and our service as a resource to the opera community are made possible by the generous contributions of our donors and volunteers.
